57% of online U.S. adult smartphone owners who see ads in apps say the ads interrupt their user experience, and only 20% feel the ads are relevant to them.

What this means is clear: If you want to advertise to smartphone users, you need to make sure your ad is relevant to them, interesting enough to keep their attention, and useful enough that they would like to engage in a relationship with you.
