Testimonials: One of the Keys to Book Marketing

Testimonials can make a difference in how people see your book. Work to get some great ones. Ask the experts in the field. Ask those who buy your book ahead of time. Ask your online friends. Ask your social media followers.

Great testimonials can sell great books!

Here are some of the great testimonials I’ve received for my book, 1001 Ways to Market Your Books. I’m always looking for more. You can email me yours via books@bookmarketingbestsellers.com. Thanks!

“If you want to sell 650 million books like we have, read and use this book.” — Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, Chicken Soup for the Soul

“John Kremer’s 1001 Ways to Market Your Books was instrumental to our success in making The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People one of the two most influential business books of the 20th century.” — Stephen M.R. Covey and Greg Link, authors of Smart Trust

Here’s some advice on how to go about getting testimonials from broadcast producers. It applies to going after any testimonials:

“Kremer is the go-to guy for marketing books. John Kremer’s book on marketing books is the bible of the industry. Not only are Kremer’s tips and resources excellent for promoting books, but you can use many of the techniques and strategies for promoting a variety of other goods and services. Highly recommended!” — Joel Comm, author, The AdSense Code: What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense

“John Kremer’s 1001 Ways to Market Your Books is absolutely invaluable. I have more than 50,000 copies in print simply from using one idea alone! Thanks for sharing and being such a wealth of knowledge, John!” — Asha Tyson, author, How I Retired at 26!

“The BEST book I’ve ever seen on book marketing has just been updated. I’m speaking of John Kremer’s famous masterpiece, 1001 Ways to Market Your Books. This thing will hurt your back to lift, wear you out to read (OVER 1,001 ideas), and exhaust you if you try to do everything in it. It’s a by-god classic. Just thumbing through it will overwhelm you with practical ideas for selling your own book. I can’t recommend this one enough. Worth gold. $27.95.” — Joe Vitale, author, There’s a Customer Born Every Minute

“I used your book, 1001 Ways to Market Your Books, here in Australia and created a #1 national nonfiction bestseller — all at the tender age of 22 and unemployed!” — Bret Kelly

“First-time writers need to face the fact that their publishers rarely get behind a book enough to make it fly off the shelves–with the possible exception of those who pay large advances. If you’re not in this category, or have self-published, you MUST own this bible of information on how to market your own book. It is so chock full of good ideas it’s hard to believe one man could know so much about book marketing, but John Kremer does. If you did ONE suggestion a day, your book would start breathing a new life. Ideally start working it the minute you get that acceptance letter!” — Kenneth Atchity, agent, story merchant, movie producer, and author

I actually bought a case of 1001 Ways to Market Your Books and have been passing them out to people that mention they are thinking about writing a book. People LOVE getting this book as a gift. It is the best business gift for less than $30 that I know.” — James Lange, author, Retire Secure!

“Right before I went to my first publishing job interview with Addison-Wesley, I read it from cover to cover, and got the job. Since I didn’t have any experience in book publishing, I have to attribute sounding even partially intelligent to his book. Although, at the time, it was just 101 Ways to Market Your Book. Over the years, it’s been the only book that I’ve purchased multiple copies of to give to my employees. I recommend it highly, and I’m quite sure that even the most experienced publishing person will find all sorts of great ideas in it. Special warning for authors: After you read the book, you will feel even more disappointed by the marketing that goes into promoting your books. The good thing is that many of the ideas in the book cost nothing more than imagination and some hard work.” — David L. Rogelberg

“Staggering. No one tells the author these things—not the publisher, not the writer’s rep. Just John Kremer.” — John Robert Marlow, screenwriter and novelist, Nano
