Emmy Rossum: Be the Best Version of Yourself

Jewish Code of Ethics

The Jewish Code of Ethics

Don’t lie.

Be good to your nearest and dearest.

Work hard.

If you see someone who needs help, help him.

Be the best version of yourself you can be.

— Emmy Rossum, actress

These are some great rules, not only for your life, but also for what you do as a writer and book promoter.

Don’t lie. Always try to live up to any of your promises. Don’t exaggerate the benefits of your book. Be true and accurate.

Be good to your nearest and dearest. In book promotion, that means to be true to your tribe, to your fans, to your followers. Always give them value.

Work hard. Everything of value comes from hard work. Put in the time. Put in the effort. But still have fun. Have fun always.

If you see someone who needs help, help him. Help everyone. Help always. Give when you can. Even give when you feel you can’t. Exercise your giving muscles. Most of us write because we want to share what we know, what we’ve experienced. Writing is the ultimate act of giving. Give lots. Give always.

Be the best version of yourself you can be. Don’t back off from what you can be. Don’t be shy. Shout out your wonder. Be bold when you speak. Be bold when you promote yourself and your book. Be bold when you ask for help. Be bold always.
