Top 10 Grammar Pet Peeves
- Your and you’re are not the same word.

Apostrophes do not form plural nouns.

There, they’re, and their are completely different words.

The contraction of could have is not spelled could of.

To, too, and two are also completely different words.

Its is the possessive form of it. It’s is the contraction of it is.

Then shows a sequence of events. Than is used to compare nouns.

Affect is a verb. Effect is a noun.

Irony does not mean anything that is unexpected.

Your pants are loose. You lose your keys.
Personally, I had it when people say you did good. It’s you did well. Good is an adjective. It can’t modify a verb. That’s what well is for.
I also hate the overuse of the word very.
I also hate it when people put quotes around a word to indicate they really don’t mean what they mean. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.
