Video Creation Tips

Use an authentic background when videoing yourself.

A great beginning is crucial. If you don’t draw people into your video in the first few seconds, you will lose them.

Be yourself.

Get on to your topic right away. Don’t have a long title sequence or intro.

Don’t worry about perfection. Just get started doing videos.

Look at the lens. Talk to the lens as if you were talking to a friend.

Use a bullet point script. Do not use a teleprompter.

Facebook Videos

Facebook is now designed to feature their proprietary Facebook video player rather than YouTube videos. So, if you want to promote videos via Facebook, don’t link to a YouTube video or blog post. Instead, use Facebook video’s call-to-action button (which you can customize at the end).

To draw people to your website, upload the first 30 seconds of your video (if it’s interesting). Then add a call-to-action at the end asking viewers to watch the rest of your video on your website.
