In last week’s episode of Blue Bloods, the police chief shared this wisdom from his grandfather. Either way, of course, you win: pay back favors or pay them forward. As noted in the quote, the smart person pays favors forward.
Don’t wait for someone to do you a favor. Do favors for everyone you meet. Don’t worry about how many favors are paid back to you. You will have earned many paybacks without ever looking for them. Let them come to you without seeking them. It’s more fun that way. And more effective.
