Mobile Marketing Stat of the Day
Last week, Forrester Research released a study of 31,719 adult users of smartphones in the United States.
When users were asked how often they access the Internet via their smartphone, 58% reported several times each day, while 21% said at least once a day, 12% said weekly, 3% said monthly, and 3% never accessed the Internet via their smartphones.
But advertisers are still having trouble reaching this market of 2 billion smartphones worldwide. Why?
Lack of standards, on-going privacy concerns, disjointed tracking methods, variations on screen sizes and operating systems, all are big hurdles to successful advertising via smartphones.
One of the problems, according to lead analyst Jennifer Wise, is that most mobile ads still look like mini desktop ads.
