Here is a great little excerpt from Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian’s new blog post What’s New in SEO Strategy in 2017 and Beyond (with a little editing on my part).
Guest Blogging
It’s far easier to reach out to smaller blogs of good quality—ones that will, over time, grow bigger because they have what it takes to succeed. Your guest blog post on their blogs will gain value over time as these sites grow more influential. It’s like being on a boat when the tide rises—you’ll just go on rising up, even if you do nothing!
So go to Google and type one of these into the search box:
Your Niche + “guest post”
Your Niche + “write for us”
Your Niche + “guest post guidelines”
Your Niche + “contribute”
Don’t just rush to submit your post to the first one on the list.
Take time to study each blog and website.
Judge each blog’s potential and current audience.
Assess each site’s fit to your own website and content.
Pick only the best websites aligned with your goals and plans.
Then approach the blogger with an offer to write for his blog.
Offer each blogger a specific guest post article to match her audience.
