Jeff Davidson: Author Interview Questions

Guest Post by Jeff Davidson

So, you wrote a book! What can you be expected to answer, whether the questions come from a reporter, the marketing director from your publishing house, or anyone in between?

Here are 12 questions you need to be ready to answer:

  1. Tell us a bit about yourself, beyond what people read on the book jacket. For example, how did you get involved with the financial services industry (or whatever area your book covers)?
  2. How might your book make a difference in a reader’s life, career, etc.?

  3. What motivated you to write your book?

  4. For whom is your book designed?

  5. What are the three most important points you make within the book? Explain why they are so important.

  6. Realizing that every author has space limitations, what do you wish you were able to include within the book, but couldn’t?

  7. What changes in the industry/world have occurred (or do you foresee) that might affect what was written?

  8. Can you share any stories (case studies) of where the book made a difference in someone’s life/business/health/prosperity etc.?

  9. What are you most proud of—relative to the book?

  10. What other books, courses, and programs have you produced?

  11. Can you tell us about any other projects that you’re currently working on?

  12. If someone were to recommend this book to a friend, what would be one thing that they could say?
