This is a great checklist from Andrea Vahl on how you should be creating, using, and linking to your Twitter profile. You should check off this checklist at least twice a year, if for no other reason than to be sure you’re updating your Twitter profile with your new products and services.
Here are the topics this Twitter Checklist features:
Twitter Photo – Do you have a Twitter photo that draws people in? Is it professional looking?
Twitter Background – Does your Twitter background come across as professional and engaging?
Twitter Header Photo – Is your Twitter bio readable, given your header photo background? Is the header photo professional and effective in presenting your business?
Twitter Bio – Have you used your 160 characters effectively in presenting who you are and what you do?
Twitter Website – Is your website listed in your bio?
Regular Tweets – Do you tweet regularly?
Twitter Links – Are you linking to useful content in at least some of your tweets?
Twitter @ Connections – Are you using @aname to talk to people or mention people at least once a day?
Hashtags – Are you use hashtags to identify the topic of some of your tweets?
Retweets – Do you retweets others at least several times a week?
Twitter Followers – How many people are you following? How many are following you?
Twitter Follows – Are you following new people each week?
Website to Twitter – Do you link to your Twitter profile on your website? Is that link prominent?
Twitter Lists – Do you make use of Twitter lists to group people with like interests?
Twitter Photos – Are you making use of Twitter’s increased emphasis on photos and images?
Twitter Vines – Are you taking and sharing Vines?
I found this checklist incredibly valuable. It helped me to remind me to connect more regularly with other people on Twitter.
